Copyright Policy
The short version: don't post content you don't have the rights to. If you believe your copyrighted work is on Carvia without permission, here's how to report it, and here's what happens if you're the one accused.
1. Respecting copyright
Carvia respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. Listing photos, profile photos, and any other content you upload must be either your own work, licensed to you, or otherwise legally usable by you. Using stock photography, another host's photos, or images pulled from the web without rights is a violation of our Prohibited Uses Policy and this policy.
2. Filing a takedown notice
`[PENDING: attorney to finalize DMCA-compliant notice requirements and designated agent registration with the US Copyright Office before publish]`
If you believe content on Carvia infringes your copyright, send a notice to copyright@carvia.app including:
1. Your name and contact information.
2. A description of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed.
3. The specific URL or in-app location of the allegedly infringing material.
4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you're authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
6. Your physical or electronic signature.
3. What happens after a notice
We review valid notices and, where warranted, remove or disable access to the reported content and notify the user who posted it. Repeat infringers may have their account suspended or deactivated under our Terms of Service.
4. Counter-notices
If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you can submit a counter-notice to copyright@carvia.app with your contact information, identification of the removed content, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed in error. `[PENDING: attorney to confirm counter-notice and restoration timeline consistent with DMCA safe-harbor requirements]`
