Closing Your Account and Data Deletion

Carvia treats an account-closure request and a verified privacy deletion request as related but distinct steps. Closing access does not erase every record, and sending the request does not instantly change the account.

What the account request does

The Close account flow sends an account-support request for review. It does not directly deactivate your sign-in or delete your records.

  • Submitting a closure request does not cancel upcoming or in-progress trips. Support will review active trips with you before any account action.
  • Submitting a closure request does not forfeit or change travel or referral credit. Credit keeps its existing status and expiration while the account remains open.
  • Submitting a closure request does not immediately hide your profile, reviews, or messages.
  • Your account stays open while support reviews the request. We will send updates to the email on your account.

Requesting deletion of personal information

You may request deletion through account settings or by emailing [email protected]. We may need to verify that you control the account before processing the request. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, or obtain a copy of your personal information.

After we verify a deletion request, we delete eligible personal information and keep only information reasonably needed for active trips, claims, disputes, security, fraud prevention, tax or payment records, or another legal obligation.

When an exception applies, we limit retained information to the purpose that requires it and do not continue using it for unrelated purposes. Closing an account does not cancel money already owed to or by you, and it does not prevent Carvia or another person from preserving records required for an active claim, dispute, or legal process.

Before sending the request

Review any upcoming or in-progress trips, unresolved refunds or payouts, open claims, and credit expiration dates. Support will explain the account-specific next steps; the request itself does not change those records.
