Getting Paid: Payout Schedule
Your trip earnings become payable 24 hours after checkout, and payouts run on a fixed schedule — every Tuesday and Friday — so you always know when money is coming, not just that it eventually will.
When a trip's earnings become payable
Earnings from a trip become payable 24 hours after the trip goes Completed, as long as no damage report was filed in that window. That's the same 24-hour window covered in Host Check-Out: How To — once it closes clean, that trip's earnings are locked in and waiting for the next scheduled payout.
The payout schedule
Payouts run twice a week, every Tuesday and Friday, via Stripe Connect direct deposit to your linked bank account. Any earnings that became payable since your last payout go out on the next one — there's no separate request step, no minimum balance to hit, nothing to trigger manually.
Bank transit time: once a payout is initiated, funds typically land in your account 1-2 business days later, depending on your bank. We're telling you this upfront rather than staying vague about it — the Tuesday/Friday date is when Carvia sends the payout, and your bank's own processing adds a day or two on top. Some banks post same-day; most take one to two business days.
How to check your next payout date and balance
Your in-app earnings dashboard shows:
- Your next scheduled payout date (the coming Tuesday or Friday).
- A running ledger of trip earnings, reimbursements, and completed payouts, updated in real time as trips complete.
- Any amounts currently on hold pending a damage report.
Check it any time — there's no waiting for a statement or a support request to see where your money stands.
If a damage report is filed
If you or your guest files a damage report during the 24-hour window, the earnings tied to that specific trip hold until the claim resolves, following the published Claims SLA. Everything else in your balance — earnings from other completed trips, reimbursements owed to you — keeps moving on the normal Tuesday/Friday schedule without interruption. A held claim on one trip never freezes your whole account.
Once the claim resolves, if there's a payout due to you, it's issued within 3 business days of the final decision, same as any other approved claim payout.
Reimbursements ride the same schedule
Tolls, citations, and agreed refueling charges billed to a guest pass through to you at 100%, tracked separately from trip earnings, and paid out on the same Tuesday/Friday cadence. See Toll and Ticket Reimbursement for how to submit those.
Setting up or updating your payout account
Payouts go to whatever bank account you've linked through Stripe Connect, our payments partner. You'll set this up during listing setup — see How to List Your First Car — and you'll need it linked before your first trip's earnings can go out. To update your bank details later, go to Account > Payout Settings in-app.
